By tradition, EKE Group holds charity events in Finland on Christmas Eve. This year, Riitta Ekengren, the company's President, made the decision to send all the funds earmarked by the company for charity to St Petersburg.

The company provided aid to St Petersburg Orphanage No 3, located in the Frunze District of St Petersburg at No 42, Zagrebsky Blvd. As of now, it is home to 100 babies, the youngest being 7 days and the eldest 4 years old. 30 % of the kids are disabled, but in spite of this they live in the same group with all the other children and do not feel deprived.

With the consent of the Orphanage management, EKE Group purchased and donated clothes, toys and Christmas tree decorations for all the inmates. The initiative of EKE Group was supported by the tenants of Pulkovo Sky: German company Imtech, Norwegian company Lindorff, Russian companies Jet and SVI-Star, and Finnish company Europress.

The children were very happy to receive the surprise presents, and the Orphanage director Dmitry Penkov thanked the management of EKE Group and its partners on behalf of the entire staff for New Year's gifts and said that the most important thing for children is a warm family environment – that is the reason why the staff do their best to find a family for each baby.
